WhY it works
Why talking helps
Research shows that putting thoughts and emotions into words helps regulate the nervous system and reduce overwhelm. Naming feelings can calm stress responses, increase self-awareness, and bring clarity.
When we are heard in a safe, attentive, and non-judgmental space, the brain shifts from stress to safety—making reflection and growth possible.
Being truly listened to is not just comforting; it is deeply human. It allows us to feel seen—and that is often where healing begins.
Why walking outside Helps
Walking supports both body and mind. It helps regulate the nervous system, reduce stress, and improve mood and clarity.
When walking happens in nature, these effects deepen. Research shows it can lower anxiety, reduce repetitive thinking, and allow the brain to rest and reset.
Step by step, walking and speaking combine to support clarity, calm, and well-being in a way neither alone can.
About SARAH
“I beleive that to be listened to and understood is one of the most nourishing experiences of human life.”
Sarah Tardieu is a Calgary-based professional listener.
She has lived many chapters — a childhood across cultures, an early life shaped by freedom and instability, and years working as a mountain guide and assistant film director in demanding environments.
Motherhood marked a turning point. Facing exhaustion, solitude, and a growing sense of losing herself, she chose to turn inward and begin a deeper, more honest process of self-understanding.
Today, she accompanies others on their path toward wellbeing and growth, offering a grounded, attentive presence shaped by both lived experience and a background in psychology.
